The Discus was rigged on Sunday. It needs an independent post rigging check and a test flight (consult the Duty Instructor).
It needs to be taped and it would be nice if it were to be washed first, perhaps the JAH regular users could arrange a little TLC?
I wasn't present when it was positioned in the hangar so I don't know if the batteries were put on charge or the canopy cover was put on. If someone is able to check during the week, that would be useful thank you.
The aircraft had an inspection following a wheel collapse on landing - pilots, please be sure the undercarriage lever is properly locked, if you can get your fingers between the lever and the cockpit side it is NOT locked.
If you are unfamiliar with the feel of the undercarriage mechanism, practice at height first.
For the check flight, note that the seat pans were removed and refitted, the landing gear inspected and a loose undercarriage door fixed. The only particular point to look out for is any unusual noise from the undercarriage doors which might indicate they are not closing tightly and flapping in the airstream.
Any questions to Ian Surley or myself please.
