Astir Microphone

The Astir has a new microphone.

It is more sensitive than the previous microphone so you don't need to have it as close to your mouth as the previous one. Something like 4 to 8 inches (10 to 20 cm) seems to be about the optimum distance depending on how loud you speak. If you get reports of your voice sounding distorted (poor readablilty) you have probably got it too close!

The new mic has a slightly longer gooseneck so it is now possible to arrange it in a gentle curve pointing towards your mouth.

THERE IS NO NEED TO HEAVE IT TOWARDS YOU! - that leads to the gooseneck breaking near the mounting point.

If you have any comments or observations on this new mic, please post them here or contact me direct.

Tim
