Members authorised to carry out maintenance of Gliders

The current maintenance scheme for gliders allows for some aspects or maintenance to be carried out by owners; so-called “Pilot Owner Maintenance”. Such maintenance must be carried out in accordance with BGA Airworthiness and Maintenance Procedure, AMP 2-1, Pilot Owner Maintenance.
Quoting from AMP 2-1, Section 2 (d):
(d) Club owned/leased aircraft – Pilot-owner maintenance
In the case of leased or club owned aircraft, suitably qualified pilots nominated by the operator or club that
operates the aircraft, as specified on the aircraft registration document, may provide Pilot-owner
maintenance. It is recommended that a record of the approval is maintained.
The attached document records the list of members currently authorised to carry out Pilot Owner Maintenance on club gliders on behalf of the Borders Gliding Club. The document is also available of the Clubroom noticeboard.
