DG505 G-CJZB Field Landing
The DG505 was involved in a field landing earlier in the week. Unfortunately this was a very heavy landing and has resulted in the main undercarriage collapsing.
The damage seems to be mainly confined to the undercarriage structure and the GRP around the rear of the wheel box. One of the undercarriage doors was detached in the landing.
The plan is now to take the aircraft to a suitable repairer for a full assessment of the damage and obtain quotations for the cost of repairs. We are aiming to transport the aircraft to the chosen repairer in the week commencing 12 July.
Clearly the aircraft will not be available for some time.
More information will follow in due course.

Dave,
I was flying out of rufforth last Saturday testing a new examiner, after flying I went into Bob's workshop, they've done an excellent job on the glass work and paint job.
Still awaiting the metalwork from DG.
Bob did say that it would be quick once they've got the undercarriage bits.

Re: DG505 G-CJZB Field Landing
Is there any estimated delivery date for the parts from Germany?
Re: DG505 G-CJZB Field Landing
Sadly there does not seem to be. Initially were supposed to be with Maclean in September. I am sure Maclean is chasing as hard as possible. Parts are made by a sub-contractor to DG.....Dave-McCormick wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 7:01 pmIs there any estimated delivery date for the parts from Germany?
Re: DG505 G-CJZB Field Landing
I received a note from McLean Aviation (the company repairing the DG505) today about the outstanding undercarriage parts ordered from DG back in July.
The note confirmed that the parts are manufactured by another company external to DG and based in Austria. The parts are believed to be on the way to DG now and when they arrive they will have to be checked and certified.
McLean think the best we can hope for is that the parts will take 2 weeks to get to the UK. They are ready to fit them and finish the repair as soon as they arrive.
I will post any further updates here when I get them.
